More colors, more calories!!

The BBQ last weekend was great! Lots of good food, good friends and good laughs! The day started out rather windy, but by the time we sat down to eat it had calmed enough to be comfortable! My neices were really hamming it up, and here is Ariel being silly. But a few ice pieces down her back convinced her she had a long way to go to keep up with her Aunts!!

Friday evening my granddaughter from Carlsbad arrives. Every year she comes for a week or so. You may or may not remember that last year she brought a friend and they knitted non-stop!! Refer back to my blog of
http://angelikas-yarn-store.blogspot.com/2007/08/family-reunion.html which include photos of the knitters. I last saw Tyler in May at a family wedding. So I'm excited to see her again.

In the store I've been whittling away at getting Lorna's Laces 4 new colors up. All that is left to post is the Helen's Laces, but all the rest are there. This time I photographed each line individually.

Worsted, Bulky, Sport, Sock, Helen's Lace and Heaven all in stock. These 2 colors are Ashburn and South Shore in Shepherd Bulky. There is also Woodlawn and Maple Grove.

On my needles and ever so close to being completed is my neck down summer cardigan from Knitting Pure and Simple. Almost done with the last sleeve. Then only the front bands remain. I'm knitting it in Lorna's Laces Lion & Lamb.
Tyler loves to knit, so we might be able to really get some good stitch'in time in! Wish me luck finishing it up soon!

Oh one last note, Cascade 220 has TWENTY new colors!!! I just found out. Holy-Moly!! Yes, I will be getting them in! Stay Tuned!

BBQ & New Sock Colors

Another quick hello this morning.

Here is a picture of the new sock colors. Beginning at top: Ashburn, Woodlawn, South Shore and Maple Grove.

To see the colors better, the whole hank is shown on the Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock page.

Shepherd Sport, Worsted, Bulky, Heaven and Helen's Lace is waiting on the table to be photographed, but they are in stock.

Today is a big BBQ day. My ex-brother-in-law, Ron, (yup, ex, you don't want to know!!) and my husband plannedd a BBQ and we have invited about 15 friends and co-workers on Ron's. It has been a whole year since my sister booted Ron out of the house. It has been 4.5 months since the children were removed from her custody to his. ( again, ya don't wanna know!!)

The morning is dawning beautifully. I have much to do today, besides shipping. So I must go!

Lorna's Laces New Maple Grove color

A really quick post here, as it is soon closing time and my nieces have been patiently waiting for me. Lorna's Laces June 08 new colors arrived today. This one is called Maple Grove. Chocolate, a very muted harvest tan, and tomatoe red. As the red changes it hints at a corrally pink.

Notice how these colors are vibrant in the smooth yarn, but really different in the Heaven Yarn (mohair). It is really interesting to see how the yarns work up in the different blends.

I'll try to post another tomorrow, but big doin's this weekend at our home. We are having a big BBQ for my nieces and their Dad and many of his friends and co-workers. Guess who is cooking! I said I'd do the cooking if the men would make the guest list and do the inviting. I didn't think they'd really carry it through!!

4th of July

4th of July was great fun at our place this year. 5 of our 6 adult children came down along with a bunch of friends who camped out on our property by the water. 3+ days of water fun, sand dune fun and fireworks. In the days of his youth, my husband's oldest, Scott, made a bike launch. The launch was set at the bottom of the boat ramp. One (generally the boys) would ride the bike down the ramp and off the launch landing in the water. Revisiting those years, they built another and the boys, now men, were behaving like boys, launching themselves off the ramp into the water. The life vest strapped to the bike was absolutely hilarious! I hope to post a picture of that shortly. My husband took pictures with his phone.

This week, it is back to work!

Shipping this week brought us another new color from Lorna's Laces.

This new color is called Franklin. It is showing up pretty clear on my monitor, but it is Chocolate, Chino, Sky Blue and a lime green.
