Brooklyn Tweed Grand Street Ink

New Color from Lorna's Laces - - Brooklyn Tweed Grand Street Ink
Helen's Lace in color Grand Steet Ink

It's here, it's here! Grand Street Ink, the latest in the Color Commentary Series. It's a really rich, wine-y brown-y purple-y beauty. The original color inspiration came from some wonderful graffiti that Jared Flood (http://brooklyntweed.net/blog//) saw on Grand Street in Brooklyn that used heavy swaths of rich indigo and black.

Helen's Lace Shawl from Jared Flood.

Kid Seta has had a face lift!

KID SETA has had a face lift!! All new colors, same great price, and its' new cousin KID SETA NOIR !

Cascade Kid Seta Fiber: 61% Super Kid Mohair / 35% Silk / 4% Wool. Yardage: 25gr / 300 yds

Cascade Kid Seta Noir Fiber: 60% Super Kid Mohair / 22% Silk / 11% Nylon / 7% Metallic (Lurex). Yardage: 25gr / 232 yds.

The original Kid Seta is on clearance!
Check out prices and availability here!

This super fine lace weight yarn makes me think of feathers floating on a summer breeze. The Noir has an extremely subtle lurex in it that is barely noticeable for a upscale, classically elegant touch.

Super easy to work with on anywhere from US#6, 7, 8 needles.

I've been testing it on my Silver Reed mid-gauge machines ( SK160 & LK150 ) and it is too much fun to even begin to describe here. I've also tested it on the standard gauge (SK280). I prefer to knit it at the higher tension on that machine, because I like the glow of the yarn to work free.

I am selling my personal bulky knitting machine: KH270 & KR260. This is the Brother Electronic machine. I've used it a lot, but it glides like butter and the bed looks super good. $1800.00 Would very much prefer that this machine is picked up from me.

I am also selling my PPD. This is loaded - - I bought it when it was a PPD100, but I also have Cartridge II, and Cartridge III (which brings it up to the PPD120-most recent version), as well as the Lace Cartridge and the Stitch World Extra's Cartridge. $350.00

New Arrivals !

New stock is arriving every week! A few weeks ago my 3 new lines of Kertzer Yarns arrived.

Baby Marble Yarn is a beautiful and soft acrylic yarn that changes colors. Baby Marble comes in huge 100 gram balls. This DK (5.5 sts per inch) Yarn is perfect for baby's knits that need to be machine washed.

Marble Chunky Yarn is a beautiful and soft acrylic yarn that changes colors. Marble Chunky comes in huge 200 gram balls. This Chunky Yarn is perfect for children's clothes and busy adults garments that need to be machine washed. At 3.5 sts per inch, these will be fast projects!

Tweed Montage is a yarn with a lot of interest! This wool/acrylic yarn offers unique color striping and an added tweed effect, all in an attractive, value-added 150g ball! Notably, there are 2 pattern repeats per 150g ball
Content: 56% Wool, 40% Acrylic, 4% Viscose
Gauge: 3.625 sts per inch
The model garment in the store really shows off how beautiful this yarn is. I selfishly wore the tunic for 1/2 a day. I loved the feel of it on. It was so comfortable and didn't feel like a bulky yarn at all!

Portland, Oregon, Yarn Crawl

The Portland Yarn Crawl is Friday, Saturday & Sunday, March 4th, 5th & 6th. I didn’t have my act together and didn’t make the deadline. But I will be open extended hours that weekend for those of you who would like to come by.

I’m not your typical Portland Yarn Store. Looks like a darn warehouse in my place! Yarn stacked from floor to ceiling. None the less, the fact remains, I got yarn and an extremely expansive stock of knitting and crochet tools.
I carry these lines of yarns, plus a couple more that I just picked up last month. http://www.yarn-store.com/yarn.html

I’ve extended my hours for the Yarn Crawl Weekend. Friday and Saturday 10 - 6 and Sunday 10-5. I’m in a small plaza with free parking.

Angelika’s Yarn Store
Portland Center Plaza (contains a Plaid Pantry, Hot Pot City, Oregon Liquor Store and more)
1975 SW 1st Ave, Ste L (cross streets SW Harrison and SW Lincoln)
Portland, Oregon 97201
503-200-5991

Stop in and tell me all about your crawl. I’ve never done one!!

I *can* crochet!

I don't do it much, but I *can* crochet.

I really admire those lacey, delicate crochet shells. The kind that is worn over a silk spagetti strap top.

This little bootie is a "free with purchase" pattern using Plymouth's 100% Angora. I have it in crochet and a knit version. Plymouth's 100% Angora is one of many brand new yarns in the store. You will get sneak previews of them as Henry and I get web pages created and uploaded.

This page isn't quite perfect. Henry is changing some of my pages from "tables" to "divs". Says it is better. It is still in progress. But I can't wait any longer, so I'm giving you a sneak preview.

Enjoy!!

PS: oh, by the way...FINALLY got the Cascade 220 Superwash page all up to date. SOOOOO many colors!!! Gheeeshe! What a job!
